Having goals gives direction to our lives. It allows us to channel our energies into working towards a desired outcome, whether related to health, career, money or something else that is important to us.

The secret to goal-reaching success lies in getting the universe on your side. Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar explains the recipe for manifesting your wishes by taking a sankalpa, or intention, surrendering it to the universe, and then taking action:
“Sankalpa is having an intention. It means taking your consciousness to the universe, to the infinite; then bringing the mind to the present moment, and making a wish for something that you long for in your mind. Desire means it has to happen now. In sankalpa you say, “let it happen whenever it has to.” When we have an intention and focus our attention on that, it will start manifesting.”
Once you have set your intention, you don’t need to keep thinking about the final goal – just take the steps to work towards it. Avoid mental questioning about whether you will get there or not. Just keep the faith and self-belief and move in that direction. Know that it will happen.

You can do this by filling a copper vessel with water, placing your hands on it and chanting the following names of the 7 Chiranjivis, 21 times while facing north. Afterwards you can drink the water.

3. Sleep Better
Chant the mantra, ‘Aum Padmanabhaya Namah,’ 11, 21 or 108 times before you go to sleep. Padmanabha is the sleeping form of Lord Vishnu, the Maintainer, who is believed to sleep in a cosmic ocean of milk. Chanting this mantra just before sleep helps ignite deep, restful, yogic sleep.
Before falling asleep you can also do some relaxing breathing techniques such as Alternate Nostril Breathing. To practise this, lift your right hand up toward your nose and use your right thumb to close your right nostril, with the middle and index finger straight and lightly gracing your forehead, as you exhale completely from the left. Inhale through your left nostril and then close the left nostril with your ring and little fingers, open the right nostril and exhale through this side. Inhale through the right nostril and then close this nostril, open the left nostril and exhale through the left side. This is one cycle. Practice this for 2-3 minutes and complete the practice by finishing with an exhale on the left side.
When you go to sleep, try sleeping on your left side. In this position, your organs are freer to get rid of toxins while you sleep.
4. Gain Focus
Have you ever met anyone who is able to focus on their work 100% of the day? Unlikely. What makes us able to focus better is our ability to balance rest and activity. When we say rest, we don’t mean slumping in front of the TV for an hour or gossiping with colleagues – we mean taking some time out to relax the mind. Do a meditation, take a walk in nature, or do a completely different task, perhaps even a mundane one like washing the dishes – something that takes you away from your work for some time. When you return to your tasks, you will find you are more focused and able to see things from a fresh new perspective.
How to choose when to take your breaks? Look at what your Panchapakshi bird is doing in align27. If it’s relaxing, you can relax too.
