Jupiter, planet of philosophy and protection, is in the third pada of Uttara Bhadrapada from January 21st to February 8th 2023.

This transit sees Jupiter returning quickly over its position of June 2022, and an ambition or opportunity from that time may reoccur and be offered to you again. Jupiter’s effect is to heal, expand and reward, so as you have adjusted to new conditions over the last six months, you feel ready for a new challenge.

Take your confidence and reach for a position which may have seemed over-ambitious or unrealistic before, and at least you know now what steps to take. Uttara Bhadrapada is a benevolent energy associated with renunciation, and its symbol of the back legs of a bed, is linked to renewal and clearing out the old and outworn.

Its ruler, Ahirbudhnya, the serpent of the depths, also gives you a sense of spiritual rebirth, and with Jupiter strong in its own sign you reawaken to a sense of personal destiny and charisma. Pada three of this asterism relates to Libra navamasha, the relationship and good fortune chart, ruled by Venus, which adds a diplomatic and sharing-oriented side to your quest for meaning.

Libra’s issue with balance enhances your philosophical search as you come down on both sides of a big question – but secretly want to lead the debate. The Shakti, or special gift of this nakshatra of Bringing the Cosmic Rain, also enhances Jupiter’s abundant side and favours speaking up for a group, cause, or idea.

You have abundant faith and spiritual energy, but may also be called to take a difficult path, where some people are sceptical, if not hostile towards your end-goal. Accept the challenge, and know that you can meet every test and come out even further ahead.
