Mercury in Krittika ~ Scalpel-like speech

Mercury, planet of communication and commerce, is in the nakshatra of Krittika across the signs of Aries and Taurus from April 22^nd 2022.

Krittika’s symbol of a Flame or a Razor is ruled by Agni, the Sacred Fire, whose energy gives you passion and spontaneity. You put your plans and ambitions through a period of fiery scrutiny where only the viable and profitable avenues remain.

Scalpel-like discrimination sees you diving into research and development, where you cut away pointless or irrelevant information and get to the heart of the matter in front of you. Insight comes out of the air, and trusting your intuition gives you a real advantage in business, or in psychology and divination.

Krittika’s Shakti, or special power is ‘To Burn’, and while this may show sharp, stinging words, burning is also a way of mental purification where you get important matters off your chest. A fiery statement or debate sees you exchanging provocative words, but also brings an issue out into the open where you see what needs to be done before moving on.

This is an assertive, rajasic nakshatra, which is ideal for writing a strong letter and campaigning, or speaking up publicly for a cause you believe in. From a physical standpoint, Krittika rules digestive fire which consumes nutrients in the body, but Mercury is more concerned with ‘mind food’, where you absorb knowledge that comes from an exhaustive reading program.

From April 25^th, Mercury receives the influence of dynamic Mars, which pushes your powers of speech still further forward. You may feel under pressure to come up with an instant solution or sense somebody is challenging your word, but keeping your cool avoids you being dragged into an argument.
