Rahu (in Ashwini) ~ Make an instant decision and create a revolution

Rahu is in pada (part) three of Ashwini from April 24th until June 26th, the first nakshatra in the first zodiacal sign, which is associated with courage and impetuosity.

Ashwini’s Shakti, or special gift, for Quick Action, finds you in impulsive mode, and using Rahu’s contrary nature to innovate and get a new project off the ground.

Pada Four of this asterism is ruled by Gemini navamsha, the chart of marriage and good fortune, where Rahu has innate strength and you have intellectual detachment and the gift of research and creative thought.

Rahu and Aries are both instinctive, action-first symbols, but you can think and strategize, and have good grasp of media and politics. You understand both sides of any proposition, and break up the routine of a relationship with a lively attitude and wit.

The third pada of a nakshatra is linked to the Kama tendency, which also shows you pursuing partnerships on a personal and business level. Somebody outside your usual romantic type may appeal and your versatility makes you good company, as you relate to different people on their own level.

Ashwini is a cultivated nakshatra, which takes the edge off any potential brash behaviour, and Pada Three’s Mercury rulership also enables you to negotiate and do deals. Though you have good commercial instincts, hold on to your values and don’t allow yourself to be put in the shade or compromised.

Saturn, planet of karma and authority, gives your ambitions extra gravity through this whole transit, and you are motivated by basic desire and perhaps an inner tension. Take one thing at a time and don’t make your actions so quick that you forget to enjoy the journey.

Ketu (in Swati) ~ A priceless moment opens your mind

Ketu, the Moon’s South Node, and planet of spirituality and escape, is in Pada (part) One of Swati from April 24th to June 26th 2023, the nakshatra within zodiacal Libra.

Swati’s first pada is ruled by Sagittarius navamsha, the chart of marriage and good fortune, which enhances Ketu’s focus on freedom and higher knowledge. You combine a natural mysticism with a Jupiter-ruled affinity for education, and may even tap into an experience which changes the way you see the world.

This comes especially in a relationship, where you meet somebody through a love of study and travel, or move to another level with your partner through a blend of romance and spirituality.

Pada One is linked to the Dharma direction of life, and ambitions based in a harmonious and evolutionary purpose are favoured, and also balance Ketu’s tendency to act without thinking.

Swati’s Shakti, or special power, ‘To Scatter Like the Wind’, gives you a wide range of interests and suggests planting ideas on a subtle level, perhaps through chanting and affirmation.

This nakshatra is ruled by Vayu, the Wind God, where Ketu intensifies your interest in yoga and breath-work, specifically pranayama, as part of your meditation practice – it is good to study this discipline under an experienced teacher.

Wind and air also give power to your voice, and a philosophical debate may become deep, and even quite heated, and is only finally resolved on the level of personal experience. You want to share your insights, and may consider teaching an esoteric subject or enhancing your current knowledge offering.

Travelling takes on the quality of a pilgrimage or voyage of discovery, where even a simple holiday is an opportunity for mind-expansion and enlightenment.
