Sun, planet of light and Self, is in Mrigashira from June 8th until 22nd, the nakshatra spanning the signs of Taurus and Gemini.

The fiery Sun takes on a more emotional quality in this Moon-ruled asterism, and its influence becomes like that of the fleeting inner mind. Mrigashira’s soft and malleable nature may also see you being pursued by someone who wants what you have, and you spend your time keeping one step ahead.

You may start one project in the manner of the mythical Solar Hero(ine), only for your resolution to fade, and another day you are not so up for the challenge – be on your guard against changing moods. Mrigashira’s name means ‘to hunt’ and its mythical symbol is the Deer or Stag being pursued across the skies by Brahma the Creator, filled with desire and ambition.

The Sun is up for a grand quest and you chase your ambition with great pride and ego wrapped up in your success. The chase, in fact, may prove more exciting and rewarding than the catch, particularly in a romantic sense, and you no sooner reach one goal than move immediately on to another.

Yet Mrigashira’s Shakti, or special gift, is also to ‘Provide Fulfilment’ and there is ultimate promise in your pursuit now and temptation and curiosity keeps you busy. The Sun sheds light on the nature of your hunt and lets you decide if the end result is worth it: it may be helpful to set a definite agenda or itinerary, especially if you are travelling, so you can keep to your chosen path.

In the earthy Taurus portion of this asterism you are fixed and determined, but the Gemini passage after June 16th is more likely to see a distraction, where you disperse your energy in pursuit of multiple targets.
