Venus and Mars, the planets of war and peace, love and desire, come together in Cancer from May 31 until July 1st 2023.
This is an archetypal pairing between two planetary enemies, where you put energy into relationship, the arts, politics and leadership, and your ideal is a middle way between self-assertion and attraction. In sensitive Cancer, you are influenced by your moods, and may react instinctively if somebody makes advances, or you are drawn strongly to them.
Venus-Mars is a transit for seeking company and chemistry, and unlike other times when you are content to go with the flow, you take active strides and make introductions. Your eye may be on a romantic conquest, or doing a little matchmaking, or at least entertaining or throwing a party.
You want passion and an instant response, and may cool off quickly if somebody doesn’t pick up on your signals – jealousy and possessiveness can arise too, even if a scenario is quite innocent. Your actions can be quite unconscious and a momentary magnetic attraction sees you overriding your usual romantic boundaries.
Try to see the other person’s point of view, especially around June 21st and 22nd, where you are drawn to a relationship scene on the spur of the moment. You can also be kind and sympathetic, and offering a listening ear is an excellent way to get closer to a special person.
These two planets move gradually closer each other to July 1st, which sees the impact of this transit growing more intense. Venus also prepares to go retrograde in Cancer in the coming weeks, which may see somebody you meet now coming back a second time around.
